As a tradition, Pack 80 attends a resident camp at Camp Acahela. Camp Acahela lies at the confluence of the Lehigh River and the Tobyhanna Creek on 224 acres of Pocono woodlands near Blakeslee, Pennsylvania at the borders of Carbon, Monroe and Luzerne Counties. In the Native American language of the Lenape, “Acahela” translates as “The Joining of the Waters.”

The camp offers the boys opportunities to participate in seven program areas. Campers are housed in two-man canvas tents on wooden platforms, with a cot furnished for each camper. Some of the Webelos scouts will share larger tents. All meals are prepared by the food service staff and are served in the camp dining hall. Latrines are provided, and hot shower facilities are available.

Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a dining fly. Each campsite also has a campfire ring to be used at the discretion of the Pack’s leadership. The Pack uses this campsite as a base camp in between activities and meals. The camp provides three hot meals a day plus evening activities. The program is very structured, and the scouts are able to spend time in the campsite around the campfire before retiring for the evening. There is a Trading Post for the purchase of snacks and/or Scout “stuff”.

***Important Forms***

Required Medical Forms - Boy Scouts of America requires that everyone attending (adults and youths) submit a completed Boy Scouts of America medical form parts A, B and C (attached).  Part C must be completed and signed by your medical doctor.  There are no exceptions to this.  The first thing that the Camp does when we arrive is check this Boy Scouts of America form and if it is not completed with a signature from a doctor, your Scout WILL NOT be allowed to stay.  This is not a Pack 80 rule, it is a requirement of the Boy Scouts of America camps.  I  have attached the proper forms for your use.  Please plan to have this form completed and ready for submission the Wednesday prior to camp, 6/19.

Release of Minor Form - If your Scout is attending without a parent, you will also need to complete the attached Release of Minor form.

Please let me know if you have any questions either via e-mail or on my cell at 908-963-0467.

I look forward to a great Summer trip for our Scouts!
